Abstract
This study aimed to explore whether there were differences in friendship quality and stress among Yarmouk university students by gender, Faculty and Year in university, and whether there were differences in stress between students with high friendship quality and students with low friendship quality. Also, the study aimed to investigate the relationship between friendship quality and stress. The study sample consisted of 268 undergraduate students. Data were collected online using two scales measuring friendship quality and stress. Results showed that there were no significant differences in friendship quality and stress by gender, faculty and year in university. However, there were significant differences between students with high friendship quality and those with low friendship quality in the mean scores on the stress scale, where students with low friendship quality scored higher. Additionally, Pearson's correlation coefficients showed significant negative correlations between friendship quality and stress.
