Abstract

The research aimd to investigate the predictive ability of the dimensions of imagination in creative problem finding (fluency, originality) among gifted students at the secondary stage in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It also aims to identify the differences in creative problem finding based on giftedness classification (academic, non-academic) and gender. To achieve the research objectives, the descriptive correlational and causal-comparative methods were used. The sample consisted of 167 students from the Gifted Students Center in the Kingdom of Bahrain, divided into 76 academically gifted students (54 females, 22 males) and 91 non-academically gifted students (67 females, 24 males). The General Imagination Scale and the Creative Problem Finding Scale were used, after verifying the psychometric properties of each. The results revealed that the creative imagination dimension positively predicted fluency and originality in creative problem-solving among gifted students. Additionally, the imagination and dreams dimension negatively predicted fluency and originality in creative problem-solving among gifted students. The study also indicated statistically significant differences in creative problem-solving in favor of female gifted students.
