Abstract

This study aimed to identify the key figures who contributed to shaping educational and psychological thought and practice in the Jordanian educational field and universities, and to examine the degree of agreement among academics in colleges of education regarding the importance of the educational and psychological contributions of early educational pioneers in Jordan. A descriptive–analytical approach was adopted through a review of academic databases, research studies, and books to identify these figures. A survey instrument was then used to assess the views of a sample of educational academics on the extent to which these figures deserve inclusion among the early pioneers. The results identified a list of ten figures, supported by clear justifications based on predefined criteria. The findings also revealed a high level of agreement among faculty respondents, with approval rates ranging from 70% to 96.6%, indicating strong academic recognition of these figures’ contributions to education, assessment, and educational and psychological thought. The study recommended documenting the contributions of educational pioneers in academic references and school and university curricula, and strengthening their inclusion in teacher education and graduate programs to preserve national educational memory and link contemporary educational thought with its historical roots. with its historical foundations.
