Abstract
The study aimed to reveal the degree of employing social networking sites in teaching social studies subjects in Iraq. The researchers used the descriptive survey method. The study population consisted of all social studies teachers in public schools, which numbered (400) teachers. The study sample consisted of (200) teachers. Those who study the elementary, middle and preparatory stages in schools affiliated to the Baghdad Directorate of Education - Karkh - Abu Ghraib department, which includes (125) government schools, and they were chosen randomly, and a questionnaire consisting of (25) items was used to measure the degree of employing social networking sites in teaching studies Social. The results of the study showed that the degree of employing social networking sites in teaching social studies subjects from the point of view of teachers was high, and revealed that there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α= 0.05) due to the effect of practical experience, academic qualification, and academic research. In light of the results, the researchers recommended a number of recommendations, the most important of which are: Keeping pace with electronic software and modernity with regard to social networking sites on an ongoing basis to overcome the problems and obstacles facing students and teachers during their use of the sites
