Abstract
The current study aimed to identify the attitudes of teachers of Irbid Governorate schools towards teaching sexual education to students with mental disabilities from their point of view. The study population consisted of all Irbid Governorate schools teachers. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical method was used, and the study used a questionnaire to collect data and distributed to a sample consisting of (178) male and female teachers from the schools of Irbid Governorate. The results showed that the attitudes of school teachers in Irbid governorate towards teaching sexual education to students with mental disabilities came to a medium degree. The results of the study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.05) in the attitudes of Irbid school teachers towards teaching sexual education for students with mental disabilities due to the variables: (gender, educational qualification, years of experience). In light of these results, the study recommended providing teachers with awareness of the importance of sexual education with mental disabilities, and providing them with the necessary information through seminars and workshops, in order to ensure the formation of positive attitudes towards sexual education, and teaching them methods of dealing with individuals with mental disabilities.
