Abstract
The study aimed to reveal the levels of both electronic games usage and social isolation among secondary school students with poor achievement in private schools, as well as to examine the relationship between them. The study sample consisted of (272) male and female students. To achieve the objectives of the study, two scales were developed to measure the level of electronic games use, and social isolation. The study reached the following results: The level of electronic games use is high, while the level of social isolation was average, and there is a statistically significant positive relationship between the level of using electronic games and cognitive distortions. In light of the findings of the study, a number of recommendations were presented, the most important of which are: The need to educate low-achieving secondary school students about the danger of excessive use of electronic games and its negative impact on students' mental health and academic achievement.
